<p>Pentecostalism continues to make headlines as leading publications turn their attention to this fast-growing segment of Christianity. <em>The New York Times</em> published a three-part series this week on New York City pentecostals. <em>The Economist</em> observed in a December article that while the great secular ideologies of the 19th and early 20th centuries &#8212; from Marxism to Freudianism &#8212; have faded, this spirit-filled version of Christianity has flourished, with political implications.</p>
