Een verdere historicering en contextualisering van het construct, en aandacht voor de sociale en culturele embeddedness van het construct in de particuliere en historische praktijk van wetenschappelijke construeren, als ook een grotere nadruk op de localiteit van wat ik zou willen omschrijven als 'landspaceplaces', zou gewenst zijn, om meer recht te doen aan de complexiteit van de werkelijkheid 'under study'. Deze kernachtige schets van de antropologie geeft blijk van een te intellectualistosche opvatting van de werkelijkheid, waarin het primaat wordt gegeven aan een autark construct dat weliswaar een context heeft, maar zich daar op een autonome wijze toe lijkt te verhouden.
