Well, if she didn’t “flee” but instead moved from a comfortable middle-class lifestyle in Kenya, rather than an oppressive marriage in Somalia, then it shows her in an altogether different light, doesn’t it? Because her “authority” is based on her life being a real-life Islamo-horror story of the Jean Sasson or Norma Khouri genre. If it isn’t, and she is just another fake refugee who came to better herself and lied about the reason, then she has no right to be there and therefore no right to represent anyone in Parliament.

I think the AEI appointment was very convenient – as already pointed out its worldview is a whole lot different from the ultra-liberal set of attitudes Ayaan Hirsi Ali has picked up in the Netherlands. One wonders how long she’ll last, despite being feted by Jewish audiences in the USA and talked up by their chief representative in the UK, Melanie Phillips.

If that is the case you are right and that was what I meant with my comment about her authority. Important to keep in mind however, is that the program did not bring any new hard facts. Most of the information about her lifestyle is also her word against that of her relatives.
