Onderzoeksbureau Motivaction heeft onderzoek laten uitvoeren onder 1570 moslima’s (met en zonder hoofddoek) en andere Nederlandse vrouwen. Het onderzoek heeft interessante, maar bepaald niet nieuwe, bevindingen. Ik heb de nodige bedenkingen bij dit type onderzoek.
Sex slaven in Amsterdam
Recent zond Al Jazeera een serie documentaires uit over hedendaagse slavernij. In deze aflevering onderzoekt Rageh Omaar de handel en het tot slaaf maken van vrouwen uit het armste land van Europa: Moldavië. Deze vrouwen worden naar de rijkere Europese landen gebracht en in het bijzonder naar de roze buurt van Amsterdam. Volgens de documentaire niet alleen een belangrijke internationale trekpleister voor toeristen, maar ook één van de meest winstgevende sex markten van Europa.
