Submission, part I by Hirsi Ali and Van Gogh; director gets protection

Van Gogh gets protection although no threats are made against him. “The English-language film Submission features four abused women in see through clothing who tell of their mistreatment by male members of their families. They say the abuse they suffer is sanctioned by the Koran. The women’s’ breasts are visible and anti-women texts from the Koran are written on their bodies.” Besides that, “Amsterdam University academic, Thijl Sunier who has done research on the Muslim community also claimed that Hirsi Ali had missed her target.

The academic said most Muslims will react in a resigned manner to the film, asserting that the discussion about the position of women has been taking place among the Dutch Islamic community for years.

“It is pure nonsense to suggest that a majority of Muslims don’t want that discussion,” Sunier said.” And that is exactly what it is,

Truce or Defeat?

The Daily Star - Opinion Articles - Toward a truce with the Muslim world: Can Europe Lead the Way

In ‘Toward a truce with the Muslim world: Can Europe Lead the Way’ Mark Levine pleads for a truce with the Muslim world. “This may sound like a naive, even defeatist statement in the context of the 9-11 Commission Report’s reminder that the United States remains very much at war with “Islamist terrorism” and the ideas behind it. Yet a truce (Arabic hudna) rather than an increasingly dangerous “clash of civilizations” is the only way to avoid a long, ultimately catastrophic conflict. And it’s up to Europe to be the good broker.” Not everyone will agree probably (see http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/archives/002990.php) but it is an interesting thought. “A truce does not equal capitulation to terrorists or letting Muslims off the hook for crimes committed in the name of their religion. Certainly, European leaders were right to reject the “truce offer” purportedly made by Osama bin Laden last April on the condition that European countries remove their troops from Muslim lands and refuse to support the United States. Criminals can’t offer truces, and bin Laden and other groups that use terroristic violence are indeed international criminals whom the world community has an obligation to bring to justice.”

Conservative Attributes Bush’s Pro-Islam Comments to Politics

Bush is just lying when he says “islam is a religion of tolerance”? Well that’s not what Weyrich says but it more or less comes down to it. “”I know the president has to say certain things — and I understand that,” the conservative icon says, “but I also know that he doesn’t believe it.”" I wonder, did Bush lie and does Bush lie about more issues or did he not lie, but then why…. well no let’s not jump to conclusions
