An article in the LA Times refers to events here in the Netherlands.

Last year, a group of young Internet enthusiasts was charged with unleashing terrorism in the Netherlands: the killing of filmmaker Theo van Gogh and a plot to assassinate politicians. Police captured Jason Walters, 19, in a raid that left him and three officers wounded. His 17-year-old brother was also jailed.

Walters’ Internet chats reveal a casual, adolescent cold-bloodedness, according to excerpts published in the Dutch media. A spokesman for the AIVD intelligence service, the leading Dutch anti-terrorism agency, confirmed that the transcripts were authentic.

In an Internet conversation on Sept. 28, 2003, Walters joked about beheading the Dutch prime minister and bragged about a monthlong training session at an Afghan terrorism camp. The son of a Dutch mother and American father said he had fooled his family into thinking he was in Britain.

He urged his chat partner, “Galas03,” to join him on a future trip. “They will train you how to use guns,” Walters wrote, using the name “Mujaheed.” “I can assemble and dismantle a Kalashnikov blindfolded.”

“Is shooting difficult?” Galas03 asked.

“No way, man, it is not that hard,” Walters responded. “I even had to roll over with a pistol and then shoot and that went all right, praise Allah.”

Walters became radicalized at about 16, investigators say. Fellow suspect Samir Azzouz, 18, was equally precocious. Azzouz was first detained in 2002 in Ukraine en route to joining Muslim combatants in Chechnya, AIVD spokesman Vincent van Steen said.

Soms is het maar goed dat je een kleine slag om de arm houd zoals hieronder met de entry over Den Haag Connections. Ik geef toe het is een kleine slag om de arm en ik heb geen check en doublecheck toegepast.

De heren van DHC ontkennen nu dat de website DHC-Records.tk van hen is. Volkomenkut.com vertrouwd het nog niet helemaal:

Wel heel vreemd dat de nieuwste DHC raps op die site stonden. Hoe zouden ze daar aan gekomen zijn?

NOu ja dat is niet zo moeilijk denk ik. Op straatrap.tk staan ze ook immers. Of was dat later dan?

Volgens Volkomenkut.com hebben de DHC=ers vandaag hun nieuwe website gelanceerd met hun eigen DHC Gastenboek

Ze zouden op deze site opnieuw Hirsi Ali bedreigen. Ik kan de site nu even niet (meer) bereiken.

Internet van een aangekondigde dood

Internet verlaagde zowat alle drempels voor communicatie en publicaties. Het gevolg: Islam-sites met verschrikkelijke foto’s van Amerikaanse wreedheden in Irak, scheldpartijen over en weer met rechts-extremisten, maar ook verleiding van jonge tienermeisjes op MSN en samenscholing voor groepsverkrachting. Waar ligt de grens tussen woord en daad?

Hij dacht: ik sla haar dood en steek het huis in brand…

Maar doodslaan deed hij niet, want tussen droom en daad staan wetten in de weg en praktische bezwaren, en ook weemoedigheid, die niemand kan verklaren, en die des avonds komt, wanneer men slapen gaat.

There is some news on Jason W. one of the peopel who were arrested in the Hague a few weeks after the murder on Van Gogh. In his MSN-chatlogs there is a kind of death list.

Bijdrage aan het integratiedebat of scheldkanonnade? Werkstraf voor DHC rappers 'Hirsi Ali-diss'

De twee rappers van DHC hebben een Werkstraf’ gekregen.

De DHC’ers hebben de grenzen van de vrijheid van meningsuiting overschreden met het lied, zo vindt de rechter. De diss bestaat namelijk louter uit ernstige bedreigingen.

De rechter is echter van mening dat een en ander wel voor rekening van de rappers komt. Er is weliswaar geen bewijs dat ze de diss zelf hebben verspreid, maar blijkbaar hebben zij er ook niet voor gezorgd dat niemand anders aan de rap kon komen en hem verspreiden. Bovendien hebben ze geen afstand genomen van hun uitingen, maar juist in het openbaar de verantwoordelijkheid op zich genomen door in het tv-programma NOVA te verschijnen.

Den Haag Connection is in ieder geval nog steeds een hit in het underground circuit zo is mijn inschatting. (Overigens is er een ge-restylde uitvoering van de Diss inmiddels in omloop)

Tijdens de rechtzaak twee weken geleden stelde de advocaat het volgende (volgens de Volkskrant):

‘Hiphop is onderdeel geworden van de jeugdcultuur’, haalde hij geraadpleegde experts aan. ‘Zo’n diss is voor de jongens van DHC d� manier om te reageren op een debat waarin zij voor hun gevoel gedisst worden. En als we het dan hebben over de toon van het integratiedebat: is ‘kutmarokkaan’ dan zoveel constructiever?’

Nu heeft die advocaat niet met mij gesproken, maar wel erg goed mijn artikel ‘Dit is geen poep wat ik praat – De Hirsi Ali Diss nader belicht’ in het tijdschrift ZemZem gelezen.

Dat blijft overeind naar mijn mening, zelfs al stellen de rappers dat de diss niet voor publieke consumptie was bedoeld en ook al is het niet vreemd dat veel mensen hier aanstoot aan nemen.

Rappers face court for Hirsi Ali threats

The Boys from DHC faced court and the public prosecutor demanded a working order. I wrote an article about this diss trying to explain it in relation to the global hiphopculture and Dutch youth culture.
We can see this diss as an attempt of some young Moroccans who are born and raised in Holland to express their feelings and to participate in the integrationdebate. The analogy with American hiphop is the feeling of discrimination and oppression. It is expressed in a way that fits Dutch youth culture and the Dutch hiphopculture. We can say oh their they go again and ‘blame the system’ but you can also pay attention and see how deep the feelings of disrespect by dutch natives are with the boys. And be fair, is the way the integrationdebate is going in which young muslims have nothing to say anymore about their own religion, in which muslims can be called goatfuckers and their prophet a pedophile and where a politician wants to eat the headscarfs raw (is that a good english expression?), more constructive than this Hirsi Ali Diss?

In de stad bestaat een wereld die zich aan het zicht van brave burgers onttrekt. Van jonge, meestal allochtone mannen, uit niet de beste buurten. Elke dag kiezen zij tussen goed en fout. In een korte reeks praten zij over ‘het leven van de straat’. Vandaag in deel ��n: Moussa (30) uit Den Haag. ,,Ik was neergestoken en lag in het ziekenhuis. Even voelde ik me vrij.”

Het laatste woord is aan wijsgeer-rapper Zuen. ‘Wat is goed, wat is slecht? Wat is krom, wat is recht?’ vraagt hij zich af. De Prediker zou het hem niet kunnen verbeteren. Ook hij heeft zo zijn nare ervaringen, vooral weer met de politie, maar ook hij blikt er met humor op terug: ‘Ik werd behandeld als een drie, maar ik was een dikke tien.’ (Het moest rijmen op ‘ik heb het zelf gezien’, vandaar.)
