Dutch integration and housing minister Ella Vogelaar (58) resigned on Thursday night after the Labour party leadership said it had lost confidence in her.

It was no secret that integration and housing minister Ella Vogelaar was a problem for her own Labour Party. But that her party could openly dump her as it did on Thursday did however come as a surprise. It is highly unusual in Dutch politics for a party to openly berate one of its own ministers.
