“Morgen is het 11 september en drie jaar geleden. Toen de vliegtuigen in de WTC-torens vlogen werkte ik aan een essay voor De Balie. Daar hield men een reeks lezingen onder de titel ‘Het idee van je leven’. Ik was al lekker op weg, toen het idee van mijn leven ineens nogal futiel leek. If Muslims had died in their lands in the manner the writer discusses, would he have cried for them?ï¿½ A woman named Bint al-Dawa responded, ï¿½Brother Murad, Islam does not allow the killing of innocent people.ï¿½ A man who called himself ï¿½Salahuddeen2ï¿½ entered the discussion: ï¿½We have said that we are against the killing of civilians anywhere, but the enemies of God kill Muslim civilians every day and do not feel shame. Though these sites have become an ideological home for many Muslims, for most Arab immigrants Europe has provided comfort and support, while at the same time allowing them the freedom to maintain their Islamic identities. Three Moroccan immigrants died on the trains on March 11th. Aangehouden man blijkt geen verdachte aanslagen zo staat nu overal (nou ja bij de serieuze media dan) te lezen. Zoals iedereen eerder maar al te gretig noteerde dat we onze eigen terrorist in huis hadden (die nederland op de kaart zette aangezien er wereldwijd aandacht voor was), blijven veel media nu toch een beetje achter (en dan heb ik het niet alleen over de radicaal-rechtse sites). Bij deze dus: het is vastgesteld dat hij niks te maken heeft met de aanslagen in Madrid.
